Rubab Hasib builds it & runs it.

  • Software & Web Developer
  • Systems Administrator
  • IT Specialist

I build web applications and automation that solve real business problems — and I run the systems they live on. Five years in enterprise IT taught me how software breaks in production; now I build it so it doesn't.

Things I've built

Real software solving real problems — from a customer-facing ordering platform to automations that run a clinic's bookings every day.

YYC Halal Meat Shop — ordering platform & store console

  • Next.js 16
  • TypeScript
  • React 19
  • Tailwind CSS
  • PostgreSQL
  • Prisma
  • Auth.js
  • Stripe
  • Nodemailer

A mobile-first, installable web app for a Calgary butcher shop that I helped a friend build: a customer storefront with Stripe checkout, and a role-based store console with a live order dashboard, refunds, inventory, reports and an audit log.

My contributions

  • Email & password accounts with verification, password reset, rate limiting and sign-out-everywhere
  • Guest browsing, with the cart carried through sign-in to checkout
  • Pickup scheduling: calendar date, typed time checked against store hours, phone and notes
  • Declined-payment emails for customers; new-order alerts with pickup times for the store and admins
  • Content-Security-Policy with per-request nonces and a security upgrade of the email library
  • A 113-check automated end-to-end test suite and a setup & testing guide

AI-pair-programmed with Claude Code: I defined the requirements, reviewed every change and tested each flow.

Starfall: a narrated journey through the solar system

  • Blender (Cycles)
  • Python
  • Three.js
  • JavaScript
  • CesiumJS
  • WebGL / GLSL
  • Kokoro TTS
  • Web Audio
  • Cloudflare Workers

A planetarium-style website: scroll through every planet and its major moons, each told like a story over ambient music, with real NASA imagery rendered into photo-real worlds and fly-in films.

  • Planets and moons rendered in Blender on my own GPU, driven entirely by Python scripts
  • A 3D solar system you can drag and turn, with real planet positions from NASA JPL orbital data and a time slider from 1800 to 2050
  • A true-scale toggle, and a section that shows your weight and age on other worlds
  • A 3D explorer to fly over the real terrain of Earth, the Moon, Mars, Mercury, Vesta, Ceres and Pluto, built from NASA and USGS maps, with real-time sunlight, the live ISS orbit and dozens of narrated places; works on phones too
  • A black hole you can fly around, ray-traced on the GPU with Einstein's equations (my own WebGL shader), with time dilation and tidal forces worked out live
  • An "Interstellar, for real" page: live light-delay to every planet, a spinning-station gravity calculator, a slingshot simulator, Voyager 2's route and a ray-traced wormhole
  • A fact-checked encyclopedia of 18 worlds and moons, from the Sun to Pluto, with search and a side-by-side compare tool
  • Ambient soundtrack generated live in the browser, with a natural narrator voice (open source Kokoro TTS, generated on my own PC)
  • Deployed on Cloudflare with HTTPS and strict security headers

AI-pair-programmed with Claude: I set the vision and visual direction, reviewed each render and tested every feature.

Dispatch Prep: free practice for the 911 dispatcher test

  • JavaScript
  • Cloudflare Workers
  • Cloudflare D1 (SQLite)
  • Google OAuth 2.0
  • TOTP 2FA
  • Resend
  • Web Speech API

Why I built it: people applying to become 911 dispatchers often pay for prep courses just to practise for the CritiCall test. I wanted cost to never be the reason someone can't prepare for a job that helps people, so I built a full practice site that is completely free. There's no paywall and no ads. Donations are welcome if it helps you, but every feature stays free either way.

  • More than 20 practice sections with original questions, from keyboarding, data entry and call summarization to map reading, prioritization, multitasking and situational judgement, with spoken caller audio in rotating voices
  • A full timed practice test that gives the correct answers and a personal improvement plan at the end
  • A dashboard that tracks speed and accuracy for each skill and shows where to focus next
  • Accounts with email and password or Google sign-in, progress saved to the account across devices
  • Two-step verification for every member, using an authenticator app or email codes, with one-time recovery codes
  • An admin dashboard showing sign-ups, sign-in history and 2-step status, with Excel export, password and 2-step resets, and help requests
  • Security built in: salted password hashing, hashed session tokens, CSRF checks, rate limiting and spreadsheet injection protection
  • Runs entirely on free tiers (Cloudflare Workers, D1 and Resend), so it costs nothing to keep online

AI-pair-programmed with Claude: I defined what test takers need, set up the cloud services, reviewed each feature and tested every sign-in flow.

Hybrid identity lab: on-prem Active Directory to Microsoft Entra ID

  • Entra ID
  • Entra Connect Sync
  • Conditional Access
  • SAML SSO
  • Active Directory
  • pfSense
  • Ubuntu · sssd
  • PowerShell

A company-style hybrid identity build in my own lab: on-prem Active Directory connected to Microsoft Entra ID so users get one account, single sign-on and MFA, and leavers lose access everywhere from one place. Documented step by step, with the reasoning behind every design choice.

  • Entra Connect Sync with password hash sync, scoped to one OU so admin and service accounts never reach the cloud
  • Windows 11 hybrid joined to Entra ID, giving users single sign-on from their PC sign-in
  • Conditional Access: MFA for a pilot group and for admins, legacy sign-in blocked, a break-glass account excluded
  • SAML single sign-on to a test app, proven in the sign-in logs with no password prompt
  • Joiner and leaver tested end to end: new user synced, disabled user blocked from cloud sign-in
  • Ubuntu server in a DMZ joined to the domain through a firewall rule limited to Active Directory ports
  • Troubleshot from the logs: a one-hour clock error breaking certificate sign-in, DNS, firewall and Linux logon checks
  • 12 architecture decision records, scripts and 31 screenshots, with IDs and personal data removed

WhatsApp appointment booking & reminders

  • n8n
  • WhatsApp
  • SMS
  • AI assistant
  • REST APIs

Appointment booking over WhatsApp for an eye clinic, with automatic daily reminders. Alongside it run a 41-node complete booking system and a 24-node patient-appointment scheduling automation.

AI job-search & application pipeline

  • n8n
  • Python
  • LLM prompting
  • Excel
  • DOCX/PDF

Finds IT postings from the last 24 hours, logs them to Excel, and tailors a résumé and cover letter for each role from verified experience only. Python scripts render the documents to DOCX and PDF in a consistent house style.

Self-hosted automation server

  • n8n
  • Cloudflare Tunnel
  • DNS
  • Windows scripting

Runs my n8n instance on my own hardware, published on my own domain through a Cloudflare Tunnel with no open inbound ports, plus one-click start scripts and dated workflow backups.
